In this post we will be giving YOU an easy 5 step process to start your business, side hustle or project. The steps below are extremely easy to follow and I will be making use of life like practical examples.
1.Just start!
You’re probably wondering what a bold and yet a very vague statement to make. We hear this everyday why don’t you just start something but in the same breathe so many people do not know where to start. The thought of starting your own business or company can be become a very daunting and an overwhelming experience. That is completely understandable because you are stepping out into the unknown and completely out of your comfort zone. It was Thomas Jefferson who came out with the infamous saying; “If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done”.
Moving a long on how to START, I call it the three S’s, it is something I use when identifying a client’s needs, wants and pains.
- Solving the problem
- Solution to the problem
- Selling the problem
If you can do these three S’s in your mind before starting something you will always be in demand be it a product or service.
2.Do something you love & enjoy
This coincides with number one the list. Always do something you love, enjoy and is a passion of yours. If it means more than money for you than more money will follow you. It has been proven in the success formula throughout time. If you are doing something that drives you every single day, guess what? It will never feel like work!
Here is an example: if you enjoy baking, and you make the best Milk Tart in the world, according to your family and friends. That self-belief starts to grow on you and you ask them if I sold these would you buy them? The answer will mostly definitely be YES! The thought now crosses your mind to start it off my creating WhatsApp Status, Instagram Story & Facebook Story and saying you are selling your infamous Milk Tart. Without making any sales you have now started the process of creating a business with a touch of marketing.
3.Do not worry about competition
When you are authentically YOU who else can be YOU? This goes for an individual or any company. Yes, to a certain extent you have to create a competitive advantage in some way or form but that doesn’t mean you have religiously watch your competitor. There is going to be competition in everything you do no matter what. This is what makes the entrepreneurial game extremely exciting. Keep going, keep pushing and keep your eye on the end goal!
4.Do not worry about other people’s opinions
This is something that is difficult to overcome if you do not have thick skin. When you are a businessman, entrepreneur or an up and coming influencer you will get judged and people will try to take you down. Let them, because whether you are doing something good or bad people will talk about you. Be empathetic towards them feel bad for them because how sad are they that they take time of their day to write something negative about you.
5.Enjoy the process
The sooner you realize this is a journey that is going to have a lot of ups and downs, the better equipped you will be to handle future downfalls. Enjoying every single step is a momentous moment because when all the hard work pays off and you see your ultimate goal being reached, I guarantee you there is no better feeling. Only you see the dark moments, the anxious moments, the lack of sleep but in all that you are also the only person that can see the pinnacle.
